About the Author
Sue is lucky enough to be a Key Stage 1 teacher and has been for the last 23 years. One of her favourite times of day is story time, and she hasn't met a child who doesn't enjoy listening to a story. She loves seeing the wonderment in the children's faces - waiting to see what happens next. The way a book can capture a child's imagination still amazes her everyday! That is why she started writing her own books for children.
Sue believes every child deserves to be reflected in the stories they read. This is why she wrote Alba's Notebook! Alba, the main character, has albinism and he goes on an animal adventure with his friends. Sue's book shows Alba thriving with albinism and having lots of fun along the way.
Sue is hoping her book will bring joy to many children, and especially to children who can relate to Alba. She would like to see her book in schools and libraries to help raise awareness of albinism from an early age.
Alba's Notebook
Their bags are packed, the tents are ready and the pages of Alba's notebook are waiting to be filled.
Alba and his friends hop with kangaroos, hang upside down with sloths, skate with penguins and discover other incredible animals.
Every night Alba gets out his notebook. But what does he write inside?
Join Alba, who has albinism, and his friends on their animal adventure.

People with albinism:
- may wear special glasses to protect their eyes from the sun
